In many cases, Norton Consultants has been among the first to select leading-edge automation technology from a number of different suppliers including Siemens, Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Schneider and others to produce integrated control systems matched to the client's precise process requirements. This has resulted in decreased installation and commissioning time and increased plant throughput with operator control delivered on-time and within budget.
Norton Consultants do not 'push' clients into purchasing particular brands of equipment, but will recommend only products best suited to the clients' application.

AEROSPACE MANUFACTURE - PORT MELBOURNE, VIC
Boeing ASTA Components' new Aluminium Component Finishing Facility comprises a fully-automated surface treatment line of 20 process tanks including vapour degreaser, alkaline and acid cleaning, conversion coatings, acid anodising, rinsing and sealing and dye-penetrant non-destructive testing and inspection, spray painting booths and support facilities including a chemical laboratory, all housed within an existing building.
Norton Consultants carried out a feasibility study in August 1990 and were subsequently appointed principal consultants for the project management, design, documentation and commisioning of the new facility.
With an overall value of $5 million, this project was carried out on a 'fast-track' basis and completed on time and within the budget established in the feasibility study - the existing building became available in May 1991 and production commenced in February 1992.
The overall success of this project can be judged by the 500% reduction in product turn-around time. Norton Consultants subsequently received three engineering excellence awards for their work on this project.
